With ten captivating albums in four years, London-based free jazz quartet-turned-trio Ill
Considered have taken the spiritual jazz world by storm with their deep grooves, plaintive
melodies, and electrifying intensity. Beautiful syncopated pizzicato riffs mixed with dark and
brooding piano motifs gave way to ground-breaking free Jazz ensemble Ill Considered's playful
approach to Quest Ensemble's subtle sonic manipulation. Breaking down the original track into
loopable sections, shaped through a longer climatic groove allowed the remix ensemble to
improvise freely over the top. By adding sax lines followed by drums, percussion, bass, guimbri
and taishikoto, 'Ill Considered' treated this remix more like a collaborative improv rather than
traditional remix, building from subtle dynamics to a big extended climax to create a new truly
exciting, interactive track - a true merging of styles and approaches. exciting interactions.
